Vigneto utilizes these free plugins. They should install with the theme, but here are their names if you need to download them again from the WordPress Plugin library (Plugins>Add New):
- Draw Attention – Draw areas on an aerial photograph and provide tooltip information for each
- Bloom (download from Elegant Themes) – email opt-in pop-up
- Smart Slider 3 – slider construction as is used on the Home page*
Page Layouts are saved in the Divi Options > Library for your page-building pleasure.
Here are some items unique to the Vigneto Theme.
I’ve included a ‘Coming Soon’ page placeholder for you to use while you complete the other pages. Set it as your Home Page in the Settings>Reading area.
VIgneto uses a slider for the home page. If you do not wish to use a slider, open the backend of the Home page and delete the Home slider module. You can then upload a Primary Page Layout from the Saved Layouts Library and add your own content.
Vigneto also uses a still image to replace the slider on mobile devices. If you don’t wish to use this substitution, simply delete the “Still Image for Mobile” section on the Home page.
The Harvest Gallery page is a ‘teaching’ gallery, with text boxes and a button-link to other pages. You may remove the button if you don’t want to link elsewhere in the site. Keep your text short so the boxes can be viewed on mobile devices. Both galleries use landscape-oriented image blocks. You’ll save yourself some grief if you choose landscape images.
Any time you see a green row, that is a global module. When you make changes to one, it will replicate changes to the other modules of that type.
The eCommerce functionality is provided by WooCommerce. Vigneto uses a simple shop – WooCommerce has hundreds of extensions and customizations – many of them free – to make your shop your own. See a link to WooCommerce documentation in the Resources section below.
The Wine Shop page uses a Divi Shop module. You may use the WooCommerce layout instead if you like. The Cart, Account, and Checkout pages are WooCommerce templates, and recognizable to buyers. You may make your own pages, but you should know how WooCommerce works prior to doing this.
This theme can also be integrated with a third party wine sales / POS software such as WineDirect, Vinespring, etc.
Customizing Bloom plugin
The Bloom email opt-in is set to appear on the Winery page. When you make your own pop-ups, you can set where they appear. You will need to set up an account with an email provider and include their required information to make Bloom work.
Draw Attention plugin
This free plugin allows multiple location outlines and tooltips/graphics. It is good for one map. If you wish to add others, you’ll need to upgrade to Pro.
Smart Slider 3 plugin
This free plugin is a powerful slider creation tool. Additional capabilities are available with the Pro version.
*The demo slider in the theme is a separate file you will need to import. It is presented as an additional file in your download of the the theme from Elegant Marketplace. After you’ve uploaded the child theme and made it active, and have initiated the Easy Demo Import to complete the theme installation, you’ll need to go to the Smart Slider and import the demo slider.
See the little Import Icon (highlighted). Unzip the slider.zip file to your computer, and import the slider.ss3 file to this interface, and the demo slider will load.
Of course, if you want to create a slider from scratch, just go into the settings in the SmartSlider and build your own.
Many of images here are provided in the theme are from the amazing photographers at Unsplash.com and are Creative Commons licensed. But some are not. It is in your best interest to replace these with your own pictures – as I’m sure you will.
After you replace my demo photos with your own, you will want to go into the Media Library and delete my photos and graphics from your collection. The Media Library stores photos, videos, documents . . . and it can get messy quickly. Make it a habit to keep your Media Library tidy.
